I don't have tons of time to day so I am going to have to email pretty quick. We have a completely new zone, a lot anxious Elders and Sisters who want to all email their families at the same time and not enough computers to do so. Next preparation day will not be as crazy.
So this week the most notable thing that happened was I went and picked up my trainee. The cool thing is that becoming a trainee in this mission is the only calling beforehand you get to go to the temple to prepare for. So all the trainers went and did that and wow that was a sweet experience. I have a testimony that the temple brings in power to prepare for life's tests. Then Thursday we picked up our new companions, I think that was the most pumped I have been in my entire life!! When we were going in to see all the new Elders it felt as though I was going into a varsity basketball game. So much excitement, nerves, and everything. Then we got our trainers and I already love the Elder. Super excited for these next 12 weeks of his training.
This whole training thing is awesome!!! My Trainee is an Elder Named Elder Rasmussen and wow what a prepared Elder!!! He came out pretrained. I am already super proud of his humility and growth already in these few days.
It is definitely a challenge having to speak most of the spanish in lessons. When I don't understand something that was said I can't look to my companion and expect him to know what they said. But that is okay. The gift of tongues and interpretation of tongues is a funny thing. I find that if I need to say something or need to understand something, then it is given to me. Some lessons I understand every word, other lessons I don't understand anything. It all depends on the will of heavenly father and what he wants. But wow, I have seen him lift my companion to do what he wants.
Anyway, we have 4 people on date for baptism. We have two solid investigators that should get baptised this month because they are so ready and prepared. I remember our last lesson with our investigator Josh, I remember testifying about the gift of the holy ghost that we can receive after baptism and then all of the sudden the spirit hit all of us like a rock. We all just paused for about 5-10 seconds and all I could say is "wow!"
Friends and Family, I would like to testify to you that living on this earth and having the opportunity to learn and grow proves that our heavenly father loves us. He never wanted us to go through hard things but he knew that we needed to. So he let us go, like a parent when their kid moves out. Please don't be scared of this process of life, yes its hard, but it all works together for your good. Rely on your father in heaven for advice and will be filled with hope (Either 12:4).
Anyway, the Gospel is simple brothers and sisters, learn it and live it.
I pray for you every day
Love Elder Fuller
